So Into U (from Pinocchio / Hot Summer – 2011)

So Into U has that classic “wet” sound I always associate with certain producers like Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, and that alone gives it some welcome nostalgia. As far as the actual song goes, So Into U is standard late-album filler. However, there are a few ornate musical flourishes that offer a real sentimental – almost holiday – feeling. I love the vacillating synth touches, which bring a playful dimension to the string elements. The girls sound great, delivering a robust vocal blend that makes the entire song go down easy. So Into U isn’t a patch on f(x)’s more daring material, but it’s a hard track to dislike.
