K-Pop A-Z Review: f(x) – Cash Me Out

One song. Every day. Alphabetical order.

Keep up with f(x)’s A-Z reviews here!

Cash Me Out (from 4 Walls – 2015)

Melding an abrasive electro beat with a steady kick and a big, floor-filling chorus, Cash Me Out is an invigorating slab of quirky EDM. It doesn’t really get going until its bonkers post-chorus drop — a moment where the producers throw everything they have on the table to create a gloriously chaotic centerpiece. The rest of the track is a bit more predictable, though a sharp, surprising power note from Luna at the end of each pre-chorus is a great moment. I also love the layers of synth textures that underline Amber’s rap in the bridge. This is every bit as brash and crazy as you’d hope for from an f(x) track.

  1. Some days I feel like 4 Walls is their best album. It surely is the most polished one, at least.

I think I read Cash Me Out was gonna get the title track treatment before the LDN Noise tracks came up.

  2. This reminds me of that club- dancefloor- music of the 2010’s! That is to say, it makes me feel nostalgic and gives me the uncontrollable urge to dance- always a good feeling.
