Voice Of My Heart (from Evolution – 2011)
Most of Infinite’s early ballads tend to follow a certain formula akin to typical Korean OST releases. Voice Of My Heart is a perfect example, with its ornate sound and melodic base. It’s sentimental to a fault, but powered by the kind of earnest performance that makes the schmaltz go down easy. It certainly helps that the group were already on the top of their game vocally, even less than a year into their career. Voice Of My Heart may not stand out all that much in comparison to some of their more unique productions, but it builds to a very satisfying swell of emotion — highlighted by its final, belt-it-out refrain.
