Shot (from Inspirit – 2011)
One of Infinite’s strongest b-sides, Shot never once lets up. From the opening, explosive refrain, the song is a jolt of pure energy. Sweetune ups the presence of electric guitars, fusing them to an aggressive dance beat that provides the perfect playground for the group’s dynamic vocals. Sungkyu especially excels here, delivering a rock star snarl that gives the track a bit of edge. But the real showstopper is Shot’s layered, larger-than-life chorus, which plays more like a classic pop song build than a true centerpiece. This gives the feeling of constant acceleration as the track races towards a climax that seems forever out of reach.
