K-Pop A-Z: Infinite – Paradise

One song. Every day. Alphabetical order.

Paradise (from Paradise – 2011)

Infinite had a lot riding on Paradise. Be Mine had finally given them the breakout hit they needed to gain public recognition and secure their first music show win, but that could have easily faded away without a strong follow-up. But Paradise didn’t just match Be Mine’s quality level — it improved upon it. The song is easily one of the group’s most majestic moments, drenched in lush orchestration and highlighted by its powerful, falsetto-led chorus. It melds beat-driven balladry with an absolutely epic instrumental, blurring the lines between genres as it rockets between peaks of blissful theatricality. I can’t think of anything else in k-pop that sounds quite like it.
