1/3 (from Over The Top / Paradise – 2011)
Though Infinite’s first full length album was bolstered by two back-to-back mega-hits, its album tracks are often a bit more experimental. In some ways, 1/3 is of the standard dance-pop style that the group was working with in 2011, but its series of ascending synth sweeps give it a unique rhythm that sounds unlike anything else in their catalog. Merge that with flourishes of strings and a robust addition of electric guitar and you have a solid extension of their more public-friendly material. The only elements I would remove are those flourishes of autotune, which simply don’t blend with Infinite’s already-engaging vocals.
