Amazing (from Over The Top / Paradise – 2011)

Though their bread and butter lies in propulsive dance tracks, Infinite tackles soft rock better than almost any other k-pop group. Buoyed by Sweetune’s lush production, Amazing layers the group’s vocals to tremendous effect. Its verses are standard pop fare, allowing the guys to appeal their charms with a light, ingratiating melody. But once the tempo changes and the guitars become more prominent, the chorus truly takes off. It all climaxes in a widescreen, chill-inducing surge, where the instrumental momentarily drops out and the arrangement shines full spotlight on the guys’ powerful, wall-of-sound performance.
