Last Romeo (from Season 2 / Be Back – 2014)
Perhaps Infinite’s most underrated single, Last Romeo is their final (at least for now) collaboration with Sweetune. The song augments their 80’s synth sound with live band production that gives the instrumental an incredibly robust, dynamic power unique to their discography. This is complemented by a commanding melody that never lets up. The chorus sweeps in with an anthemic heft, driven by the fullness of the guys’ layered vocals. But it’s that forceful brass and constant punctuation of drum fills that are Last Romeo’s real knockout punch. It’s the perfect k-pop song, and an example of Infinite at the absolute peak of their power.
