Diamond (from Be Back – 2014)
Challenging Between Me And You for the title of Infinite’s best ballad, the stirring torch song Diamond provides the perfect spotlight for the group’s dynamic vocals. The instrumental drops percussion entirely, framing the track with a gorgeous mix of piano and strings instead. It’s a song driven by voices, and when the guys join forces for the series of climactic notes that conclude the song, the results are goosebump-inducing. Diamond’s sheer power and stark focus is unlike anything else I’ve ever heard in k-pop, and occupies a very unique place in Infinite’s discography. It was truly a moment of musical maturation for the group, and a standout display of less-is-more power.

This reminds me of a song my mom loves, “Kiss From A Rose” by Seal.
Also I was blown away by the vocal performance of Hoya and Dongwoo. I was listening like “these are the rappers??”. I mean, I knew Infinite’s vocals are legendary, but dayum.
