I’m Going Crazy (Infinite F) (from Season 2 / Be Back – 2014)

Before they debuted as an official sub-unit, Infinite F released this quirky blend of icy synth and subdued hooks. Infinite’s music doesn’t often take a very experimental bent, but the tones that drive I’m Going Crazy feel very unusual. The constant loop of galloping percussion makes for an odd tempo, especially set against the track’s moodier electronic atmosphere. Even the melody seems muted. It’s catchy, but not explosive in the way you’d expect from an Infinite track. But within the context of Be Back, the song fits perfectly well, offering a restrained dose of 80’s synth-pop to counter the album’s bigger centerpieces.
