Love Of My Life (from For You – 2015)
Infinite’s original Japanese work has often been a testing ground for new sounds, and Love Of My Life points toward a very promising direction. The guys go full lighters-in-the-air power ballad here, complete with not one, but two extended electric guitar solos. The melody is built around a dramatic, oft-repeated refrain. This kind of simplicity could easily grow tiresome, but the song is dressed in such bombastic production that it never drags. It helps that the guys are on the top of their game vocally, extending the chorus’s notes to breathtaking effect as instrumental fireworks explode around them.
