Infinite’s long-awaited comeback resulted in the title track Tell Me, which divided opinion on this site and others. It’s taken from the group’s third full-length album, Top Seed, and kicks off a string of ten other newly released songs. Just like with 2016’s Infinite Only, I’m here to offer my thoughts on every single one of them. Check back each day for several mini-reviews, and be sure to take a look at my sprawling K-Pop A-Z page for thoughts on the group’s entire catalog.

TGIF (Dongwoo solo)
Beyond Sungkyu and Woohyun, who have already released albums of their own, Dongwoo seems to be the Infinite member with the most solo potential. TGIF’s particular blend of modern r&b/pop isn’t really my thing, but it allows Dongwoo to show more versatility than in his work with Infinite H. It’s a fun, vibey party track that works well with his unpredictable personality. His falsetto ad-libs towards the end of the song are a particularly nice surprise. Within the context of the album, TGIF’s more acoustic-leaning production stands out, making its placement in the first half of the running order kind of awkward. I think I would have rather seen the three solo tracks bunched all together right before Begin Again.

Dongwoo isn’t my bias but this is the best song on the album imo and i feel like maybe should have been saved for a possible solo debut for him? Loving the reviews btw!

I like the song, but I agree that it might have fit better with solo promotions. For me, it kind of interrupts the flow of the album.
