Infinite’s long-awaited comeback resulted in the title track Tell Me, which divided opinion on this site and others. It’s taken from the group’s third full-length album, Top Seed, and kicks off a string of ten other newly released songs. Just like with 2016’s Infinite Only, I’m here to offer my thoughts on every single one of them. Check back each day for several mini-reviews, and be sure to take a look at my sprawling K-Pop A-Z page for thoughts on the group’s entire catalog.

REMINISCE (L solo)
When talking about L, most would probably lead with his visual — or maybe his acting. But I truly think he’s one of k-pop’s most underrated vocalists. The problem is that it’s almost impossible to compete with voices like Sungkyu and Woohyun, so he rarely gets the spotlight he deserves. Reminisce sounds very much like the cover of In The Rain that he recorded last year for King of Masked Singer. It takes on an almost bluesy vibe, which matches well with his resonant tone. It’s one of the album’s slowest pieces, driven most strongly by a constant swell of strings. This uncomplicated arrangement gives it the air of a stage monologue from a musical, even if it could use a more dynamic push.
