K-Pop A-Z: Infinite – Lately (White Confession)

One song. Every day. Alphabetical order.

Lately (White Confession) (from Lately – 2011)

Some things just go perfectly together, and Sweetune + Christmas is one of them. Lately supplies Infinite with the kind of surging, ultra-melodic pop sugar rush their first few years were built on, but by adding touches of the season (jingle bells, anyone?) the song becomes one of those evergreen classics that fans look forward to each year. Better yet, it manages to spotlight each member perfectly, giving everyone a well-calibrated moment to shine. By the time we hit the wordless, harmonized refrain that closes the track, it’s impossible not to be won over. It’s been my Christmas song of choice ever since it was released.
