K-Pop A-Z: Infinite – Request

Request (from Request – 2013)

CF tracks are designed primarily to promote a product, and they really aren’t supposed to be this good. But rather than go gimmicky or opt for a commercial jingle sound, Request sees Infinite teaming once again with Sweetune for another strong example of their synth-drenched 80’s pop style. Driven by a propulsive instrumental, the verses chug effortlessly forward before the melody intensifies for Request‘s blissful surge of a chorus. It may not feel quite notable enough to act as an actual comeback single, but it more than stands on its own as an exciting bonus addition to the group’s discography. That easygoing music video is just icing on the cake.
