Puzzle Bubble (from Puzzle Bubble OST – 2011)

Released as an OST for an online game, it’s hard to have very high expectations for Puzzle Bubble. The song is also known as Garagabana, which should give you an even clearer idea of its sound. This is irreverent pop music with a wistful symphonic touch. Even though the track is stuffed full of sound effects and orchestral flourishes, it doesn’t amount to much. The melody is lightweight and the vocal performance is overly cutesy. The robust instrumental gets it over the finish line, but this is more of a curiosity than a vital component of f(x)’s discography.
