With over 2,900 songs on my iPhone’s “K-Pop Singles” playlist, I thought it would be fun to add a bit of unpredictability to my song review posts. So as a result, we have the “Random Shuffle Review” feature.
The rules are simple. I fire up my playlist, press “shuffle,” and whatever song plays first gets the full Bias List treatment!

Of all the popular boy groups of their era, I never really got into 2PM. Yes, they released a few undisputed classics, but I was too busy with groups like Infinite and SHINee to give them much of a chance. Still, I understand why they were so popular, and they’re one of the few male K-pop groups who actually have a sizable (and good!) Japanese discography. If you’re interested in exploring this further, youtube has finally uploaded all of their J-pop music videos in full HD quality. It took them long enough!
However, I’m not here to talk about a Japanese track. Nearly a year and a half after reinventing their sound with 2013’s brilliant combo of A.D.T.O.Y. and Come Back When You Hear This Song, the guys came roaring back with the addictive Go Crazy (미친거 아니야?). As its title suggests, this is a party track through and through. Co-written by the group’s main vocalist Jun. K, the song was the funkiest Korean comeback 2PM had delivered yet.
You all know how much I like funky, especially with an instrumental driven by grooving bass and a generous dose of rhythm guitar. Go Crazy’s steady structure is a look at K-pop days gone by, when songs had space to breathe and didn’t need to collapse into unnecessary tempo changes at every turn. If this track had been produced today, it would surely be saddled by at least one needless trap breakdown. Instead, Go Crazy has an uncluttered appeal, offering a steady beat enhanced by its rhythmic chorus. The hooks are among the sharpest in 2PM’s catalog, even if the song is largely a lightweight affair. It was a deserved hit for them, and a guaranteed dancefloor filler when you just want something upbeat and fun.

Where has this song been all my life? Its great! oh, except for the bridge – they could have gone extra, but instead went minus.
I really know nothing about 2pm, other than it is the home group of Captain Korea Taecyeon, and is the other half of 2am about whom I also know very little.

Silly party starter track, it’s very nice. I don’t know how i missed this song from 2PM completely when it was released despite watching a few variety shows with them here and there.

One of my favorite 2PM’s title track, this album is solid too. One of their best after Grown.

What made 2PM stand out was their marketing as “Beastly idols.” They were the only boy group who really felt like a man group. Smart marketing to have them tear their clothes off all the time and get them lifeguard CF’s.
Nowadays there are muscular idols, but with 2PM all members committed. It was built into the concept.
