There are few things I enjoy more than a great summertime song. They’re bright, they’re exciting, and they remind me of my favorite time of the year.
There’s no telling what this summer in K-pop will bring, but over the next few weeks I’ll be flashing back each day, showcasing a highlight from past summers. The rules are simple: I fire up my carefully compiled “K-pop summer” playlist, hit ‘shuffle,’ and if the song that pops up hasn’t already been featured on the site, it gets a post and mini-review of its own.
So, get ready for a summer of K-pop on The Bias List!

NS Yoon-G – Honey Summer (2015)
For those looking to scratch your Sistar summer itch, NS Yoon-G’s Honey Summer with be the perfect salve. It’s funny… when this was first released I remember dismissing it as yet another knockoff summer pop track. How I would kill to have “yet another knockoff pop track” this year! Honey Summer borrows from the trademark Duble Sidekick sound, but it’s not produced by that team. Instead, it uses their frothy summer style as a springboard for a refreshing – if repetitive – spotlight for Yoon-G’s airy vocals. I especially love the saxophone in the bridge. You can’t beat a good sax!
