There are few things I enjoy more than a great summertime song. They’re bright, they’re exciting, and they remind me of my favorite time of the year.
There’s no telling what this summer in K-pop will bring, but over the next few weeks I’ll be flashing back each day, showcasing a highlight from past summers. The rules are simple: I fire up my carefully compiled “K-pop summer” playlist, hit ‘shuffle,’ and if the song that pops up hasn’t already been featured on the site, it gets a post and mini-review of its own.
So, get ready for a summer of K-pop on The Bias List!

The Solutions – Ticket To The Moon (2016)
I never wrote about this song when it was released in the summer of 2016, nor do I often talk about my love for The Solutions. They’re not an idol group, and their material is often performed in English. In fact, scrape any Western record shop and you’re likely to find this kind of alt-radio rock without much problem. But, Ticket To The Moon’s hazy AOR sound is very much up my alley, and feels incredibly nostalgic. I love the slight electronic influence, but Sol’s rich vocal (and the airy harmonies that support it) is the star of this show. In fact, this is a perfect compliment to yesterday’s Midnight Romance track!
