After writing about FlowBack’s ultra-80’s, ultra-fantastic single Heartbreaker earlier this week, it feels like the right time to launch a new feature. My itunes library is riddled with playlists to suit all my specific interests within the k-pop sphere. Chief among these personal biases is 80’s-inspired music. K-Pop has a love affair with this specific decade, and so do I.
Below is my Ultimate 80’s K-Pop Playlist. The songs are in no particular order, and I tried to limit the amount of tracks by each artist. Almost all of Infinite or Snuper’s songs would have qualified, as well as the entire Reboot album by Wonder Girls.
Have a listen, and please, please, please add your own favorites and suggestions in the comments!!
JYP – Fire (ft. Jimin Park, Conan O’Brien & Steven Yeun)
Dal Shabet – B.B.B (Big Baby Baby)
IU – Sea Of Moonlight (with Fiestar)
Verbal Jint X Sanchez – Favorite
Park Gyuri & From The Airport – The Little Prince
Heo Young Saeng – The Art Of Seduction
Snuper – 4th Dimension Of Angels
The Solutions X Kei – Beautiful
Wonder Girls – 2 Different Tears
JYP – Itaewon Freedom (with UV)
Super Junior – White Christmas
Wonder Girls – Candle (ft. Paloalto)
Seventeen Vocal Unit – Chocolate
Girls’ Generation – Express 999
Toy – Goodbye Sun, Goodbye Moon (ft. AKMU’s Suhyun)
Infinite H – Aren’t You Going Somewhere? (ft. Yang Da Il)
Wonder Girls – Baby Don’t Play
Snuper – Jekyll, Hyde (80’s Mix)
YAAAAAAAAYYYYY thank you so much for making this! Time to listen to this all day lol

This might be late to comment…
But I personally feel like Son Dam Bi’s “Saturday Night” deserves to be on this list.
Please listen and see what you think.
BTW it’s produced by Brave Brothers. 😉

Woohoo! I’m EXTREMELY late to the game, but did a search on your website to see if “The Art of Seduction” was reviewed. Since it doesn’t have a standalone post, I’d love for you to revisit the song, give your thoughts, and rate the song. After all, the song seems like it would be very much your cup of tea: bright funky 80s sound, with that glorious SWEEEEETUNE production.

Who knows… it might end up on a “random shuffle review” post. In short, I love the track. In fact, I love the whole mini. “Life” is a killer opener. Sweetune at their peak.
