October is officially here, which means the countdown to Halloween has started. Whether you’re cobbling together a mix for a Halloween party or carnival, or just looking for some seasonal selections to soundtrack your pumpkin carving, K-Pop has a lot to offer. Here are some of the best tracks.
If your favorite Halloween K-Pop song isn’t in the list, make sure to leave it in the comments below!!
VIXX – VOODOO DOLL
Of all the major k-pop groups, VIXX have been treating us to horror-themed tracks through most of their career. Though I’m spotlighting the sledgehammer assault of Voodoo Doll, also check out Hyde, Spider and the recently-released Fantasy for more goth angst.
f(x) – DRACULA
Kicking off with a bloodcurdling scream, Dracula‘s eerie electronics are tailor made for Halloween. It’s also one of the group’s best album tracks, no matter the season. For more Halloween f(x), check out the idiosyncratic Sweet Witches.

INFINITE – MONSTER TIME
Recorded for a kid’s TV series, Monster Time goes further into the spooky Halloween sound than any of the group’s other work.
DONGHAE & EUNHYUK – SCARY HOUSE
Perfect fodder for a Halloween dance floor, Super Junior’s Donghae and Eunhyuk bring us a heavy electro ode to haunted places. Also make sure to add their equally riotous Skeleton.
AKDONG MUSICIAN – TIME & FALLEN LEAVES
Halloween isn’t all ghouls and goblins. It’s also a time for harvest and the changing of seasons. No recent k-pop song better reflects this than the meditative beauty of Time & Fallen Leaves.
SHINEE – EVIL
Shinee get in the dark spirit with the aggressive dancefloor workout Evil. For more, check out the moody Nightmare from the same album.

HISTORY – GHOST
The lurching Ghost takes us into the midnight hours with its unsettling synths and dark beat. Their Psycho title track would also be a good pick.

LOVELYZ – DOLL
Sometimes the moments most suitable for Halloween are those quiet, subtly haunting ones. Doll fits the bill, with its restrained, baroque sound.

BOYFRIEND – WITCH
Usually known for their lighter releases, Boyfriend gifted us with a more beguiling sound here, utilizing a bewitching synth ornamentation to give this track a mystical appeal.
BTOB – THRILLER
With its insistent strings and dramatic dance sound, Thriller fits the bill for a haunted house party.
EXO – MONSTER (LDN NOISE CREEPER BASS REMIX)
Their original would be a great choice as well, but the remix sounds more unhinged. And for a classic Halloween EXO song, you can’t go wrong with the bombastic silliness of Wolf.
BROWN EYED GIRLS – MOODY NIGHT
As the title implies, this track sets a dark, claustrophobic mood perfect for those long Autumn nights.

And a few of my favorite J-Pop Halloween releases:
KAT-TUN – MONSTER NIGHT (UEDA SOLO)
So overtly Halloween in its sound and musical-esque performance that I almost can’t imagine listening to it any other time of the year.
Park Jung Min’s entire Midnight Theatre album could have fit into this list, but the funereal intro to Devil takes the cake.
Arashi’s typical style, but amped up with seasonal strings and a weighty sense of drama.
Pumping Halloween sound effects right into the track, you can’t go wrong with the cheesy brilliance of Bloody Night.
An oldie but a goodie. Before I even really knew about k-pop or j-pop, this little spook of a song made it onto my Halloween playlist.
Where’s Midnight Circus?

Why no TT? XD Jokes aside this is a pretty good list! I’m kinda surprised there’s no Dreamcatcher but anyway thanks for making this post!

Dreamcatcher would definitely fit right in! But this post was written last October before they had debuted. I’ll have to update at some point.

Good list! I personally hate the “noise” effect in f(x)’s Dracula so for me the live version where the effect got significantly reduced is way better. Surprised to see Ueda’s Monster Night here, he’s a talented musician I wish he would keep release solo music even if KAT-TUN is dead.

I love you for putting Arashi here, can I just say that? I love them to pieces.
