In honor of Kis-My-Ft2’s complete videography being uploaded to YouTube (in edited form, of course…), I can’t resist writing about each single. To put this in context for Bias List readers, Kis-My-Ft2 (or Kisumai, as they’re often known) are my J-pop version of Infinite. That’s how much I love them and their discography.
Yet, I rarely write about them because finding online links to their music was so hard… until now!
Kimi to no Kiseki (2013)
We’re continuing to journey through the murky period of Kis-My-Ft2 singles, but I like this one better than either Kiss Your Mind or S.O.S. I get the sense it’s reasonably popular too, since the guys perform it often at concerts. Kimi to no Kiseki (Miracle With You) is a feel-good, high-energy bit of dance pop. I don’t remember being bowled over the first few times I heard it, but this one’s definitely a grower. I think the reason I don’t consider it top-tier Kisumai is that it lacks an identifiable sound. The production is Johnny’s-by-numbers — solid, but unspectacular.
Thankfully, Kiseki boasts a warm, engaging melody. It’s both sentimental and nostalgic, making the song difficult to dislike. The chorus is particularly nice, bounding forward with plenty of positivity. Kiseki pulls back for its verses, though the chugging dance beat remains omnipresent.
For fans of the agency, the colorful music video is a fun game of “spot the junior.” I know there’s a young Meguro Ren (of Snow Man fame) in there somewhere. There has to be others, too!

Fans of the agency? I feel directly spoken to! LOL~~ but you must have better eyes than me because I didn’t spot meme. I also feel that he has probably changed the most since his junior days, compared to many other Johnny’s talents.
I agree that this feels a bit like any other average Johnny’s number, but it is also a pretty solid number. I feel though, that this is probably the start of Tama-chan blooming into the bona fide center that he is today. I think he’s always felt a bit uncomfortable being part of the 3 main members, especially since he wasn’t part of the center formation in their Jr. days. Kisumai’s center has always kinda been Gaya, but with this single and his Pin to Kona dorama, I feel like Tama was finally getting used to that role.

Yeah “by the numbers” pretty much sums it up. It’s just not frustrating like what “by the numbers” mean when it comes to modern K-pop releases…. 👀

This is one of my more least favorite tracks from Kis-my-Ft2 honestly. I’ve been listening to all of the songs given from these reviews and I feel like this song has been moreso drowned out by the others.
