At the end of each month, I look back at my three favorite title tracks by k-pop artists. I take my own ratings into account, but there’s a bit of wiggle room as certain songs tend to grow or fade.
November 2017 Overall Thoughts
Just like last November, this month saw a quality stream of new releases. In fact, at least three or four of my honorable mentions could have ended up in the top three of a weaker month. It was also the beginning of the winter slow-down. Most of the bigger name, impactful comebacks were piled into the first two weeks, while this last stretch of the month has been pretty barren — both in terms of actual releases and knock-your-socks-off quality. My favorite song of November wasn’t initially my highest rated, but it’s proven to stand the test of time. I love when songs improve the more you hear them. That was the case with a lot of k-pop in 2017, and now that November has officially concluded, it’s time to start preparing my annual end-of-year countdowns!

Yay! Baksu!
I am glad seventeen ended up in top. Baksu was such an unexpected bop because I didn’t expect it to do as well as it did. And plus the song is standing the test of time.

Actually kind of surprised Crazy Sexy Cool didn’t make the top 3! But as you said, there were a lot of solid releases this month and I’m guessing it would’ve made it in one of the weaker months But yeah. Crazy Sexy Cool. I’m still blown away by this song. I loved it from first listen but then it just growing on me even more and honestly it’s probably one of my top songs of 2017 at this point. I’m generally a bigger fan of SVT but it surpassed even Clap for me. Astro is on the fast track to becoming one of my top tier favs for sure.
Black Suit also impressed the heck out of me, I swear one of my favorite things about SuJu is that no matter how long they’ve been away, it feels like they always pick up right where they left off in terms of their sound and song quality. Devil was incredible and 2 years later I was afraid SM would stick them with something either A. trendy and weird B. weak and forgettable, but nope. It was catchy, addictive business as usual for them.

Yeah, Astro were definitely in the 4th or 5th position for me this month. Too many good songs to choose from!
