Top Three K-Pop Songs of January 2017

Monthly Round-UpAt the end of each month, I look back at my three favorite title tracks by k-pop artists. I take my own ratings into account, but there’s a bit of wiggle room as certain songs tend to grow or fade.

January 2017 Overall Thoughts

2017 started with one of the strongest (and most packed) first weeks that we’ve seen in years. It was a promising kick-off to the new year, but one that quickly fizzled out as January went on. This month is usually pretty slow, but the last three weeks have seemed especially empty when it comes to big or impactful releases. Though it’s not included in my round-up (since the song was technically released in December), I want to give a special honorable mention to Pentagon’s Pretty Pretty, which I wrote about before it was released as a music video. Had it been a full-fledged comeback, it probably would have taken my top spot this month.
