At the end of each month, I’ll look back at my three favorite title tracks by k-pop artists. Unlike my end-of-year countdowns, jpop and Japanese releases by kpop artists are ineligible, though I will give the great ones a spotlight. For my top three tracks, I’ll take my own ratings into account, but there is a bit of wiggle room as songs tend to grow or fade.
November 2016 Overall Thoughts
While this wasn’t a great month for k-pop news (and an even worse one for American politics), November completely delivered when it came to the actual music released. November is usually pretty strong as groups rush to come back before the drought of December, but this one seemed to be particularly consistent in quality. In fact, it was harder than ever to decide which tracks to include as my top three. There are at least four honorable mentions that would have easily made it to the top during other months this year. And perhaps even more importantly, these tracks weren’t isolated as digital singles, but instead acted as highlights within a string of super solid mini album and full length releases throughout the month.
