At the end of each month, I’ll look back at my three favorite title tracks by k-pop artists. Unlike my end-of-year countdowns, jpop and Japanese releases by kpop artists are ineligible, though I will give the great ones a spotlight. For my top three tracks, I’ll take my own ratings into account, but there is a bit of wiggle room as songs tend to grow or fade.
September 2016 Overall Thoughts
September seemed as though it was going to be chalk full of big releases, but comebacks became delayed or postponed and we were left with a month that felt unusually empty. Barring a few definite standouts, most remaining comebacks were good but not great. My top pick of September will probably not surprise any longtime reader of this site, but I wish that it had had more competition. Maybe October will surprise me and end up being the first month to snatch that elusive 8+ cumulative rating. Judging from the schedule so far, it certainly looks as though it will see a resurgence of big releases. Then again, we’ve been fooled for two months in a row now, waiting for the dam to break and the deluge to pour through.
