December 2013 Overall Thoughts

We’ve reached the end of 2013’s run on my “Looking Back” series!

As usual, December was filled with a lot of holiday releases. In fact, compared to other years it was absolutely stuffed with Christmassy songs. I won’t bother with most of them, but my number one pick of the month happens to be a seasonal track, and one that has become a staple on my playlist every year. I absolutely adore it.

Producers Sweetune also make an appearance in my top three, as they have during four other months this year. And rounding out the top three is an underrated track by a soloist from one of K-pop’s biggest groups during this era.

My honorable mentions have quite a few seasonal tracks, some of which don’t sound Christmassy at all or are just repurposed b-sides given low-budget, behind-the-scenes videos. That’s to be expected during notoriously slow December.

With that said, there were a few non-holiday comebacks worth noting. T-ara continued their strong singles run, Son Dam Bi made a long-awaited return and IU closed out her year with the very popular Friday.
