A K-pop act’s title track isn’t always the best song on their album, even if it’s the one most people will hear. Sometimes, b-sides deserve recognition too. In the singles-oriented world of K-pop, I want to spotlight some of these buried treasures and give them the props they deserve.
Tomorrow is TXT’s most consistent album in awhile, but it’s also consistently short. With only one song over the three minute mark, its ideas could use some development. I’ve soured on the main version of single Deja Vu in favor of the superior “Anemoia Remix,” and that mix’s angsty rock energy characterizes much of the album. This angst often threatens to devolve into mopiness — a vibe I’ve never been fond of. Everyone processes emotions differently, but I find that mopey music only tends to perpetuate more mopiness. So while songs like Miracle and Quarter Life are solid, I’m a bit over this sound.
Instead, I want to feature the album’s red herring of an opener as Buried Treasure. I’ll See You There Tomorrow is the only dance track, though its sleek house style is more subdued than explosive. Over subsequent listens, this is the song I find myself humming after the album has finished. Its quirky electronics paint a stylish mood, offering enough space to showcase the uniqueness of the members’ tones. If K-pop groups are intent on delivering “vibes,” I appreciate when the music has a pulse. I’ll See You There Tomorrow isn’t overly complicated, but it really works its way under your skin. And with more than three minutes to play with, it’s given time to luxuriate in its groove.

So superior to Deja Vu! The EP is not great but that song makes up for it

undoubtedly my favorite on the album as well. co-written by MNEK which I am so happy with, they’re such a great songwriter.
speaking of house music, Impossible by RIIZE is the same genre. I hope they do the genre justice.

This is by far the best on the album. Yeah I get it, it doesn’t have the explosive character of a k-pop single, but it’s so much better than the rest. It’s fresh, the production is insanely good, there’s quality in each and every aspect. Was it MNEK at the helm? I can see why it’s great 🙂

This song is still my least favourite of the bunch, i prefer deep down’s house sound over this, but it definitely grew on me! Maybe a little too much “I’ll see you there tomorrow” for my liking, as I have said before, looping entire lines dont sound good and they sound too repetitive but ig its fine here, very catchy though!

forgot to mention, the verses needed a little more. The chorus is good and the pre-chorus is fun but the verses are just not as good imo?

I love this track. Undoubtedly the highlight from this meh album and it reminded me of txt’s earlier stuff. Refreshingly addicting.

Very fresh and UK-like, never expected SHIFTK3Y and MNEK to collaborate but glad it comes in this delightful glam house(?) track.
Well, it’ll be a long way to have United Kingdom sending an Eurovision entry like this. At least Olly Alexander is a good step before we have this level of goodness.

p.s. forgot to mention how crisp and less autotuned the vocals are!

Same! This one stood out to me. It’s super catchy, too. I was humming it so frequently one day that my boyfriend pointed it out.
