Love, Love, Love (from Overdose – 2014)
Writers more clever than I have described Love, Love, Love’s otherworldly beauty — its sharp melding of musical instruments and ideologies from around the world. But, as important as it is to acknowledge its ambition, it’s equally valid to praise Love’s accessibility. A song that’s this densely packed runs the risk of collapsing under its own weight, but EXO’s diverse and compelling performance pulls it all together. The track threatens to fracture at every turn, as new harmonies and melodic diversions are brought into play. But, it keeps all its plates spinning to result in a knockout masterwork of cutting edge song arrangement.

That was a subtle shout out to Jakob Dorof there, I just know it. The man has good taste and an impossibly sharp vocabulary.
Really though…Lx3 is such a mesmerizing song. An easy highlight in EXO’s discography!

Overdose was the first Exo album that I came to discover how good Exo’s b-sides are. “Love Love Love” and “Thunder” were on repeat for weeks, but I think LLL edged out Thunder as my favorite thanks to that oriental intro and outro. And I LOVE that “Earth, air, water, fire” that accompanies it.
