My Answer (from Exodus / Love Me Right – 2015)

My Answer is as classic a pop ballad as you’re going to get from EXO. Performed by Baekhyun, D.O. and Suho, the track offers plenty of space to stretch their vocals. With little more than piano as a background, the guys belt out with the best of them, bolstering the arrangement with a robust blend of harmonies. As far as ballads go, the song itself is pretty generic. Its verses are quite restrained, making room for the big, emotive chorus to shine. It’s a fine showcase piece — and a welcome palette cleanser on its album — but not the kind of track I return to often.
