Exodus (from Exodus / Love Me Right – 2015)
One of the few genuinely upbeat tracks on the initial version of EXO’s 2015 album, Exodus hearkens back to the r&b-laced dance pop of the early 2000’s. It pulses on a nimble electronic beat that incorporates stabs of synth brass and piano loops. There’s not a whole lot to the melody, but it takes a suitably rhythmic approach at every turn, giving Exodus a single-minded appeal that increases its potency. From this point on, EXO would rarely return to material this straightforward, but those looking for a fun, toe-tapping throwback will find plenty to love here.

It sounds like an old school TVXQ track. Which isn’t a bad thing.

Never a bad thing, indeed!

Or maybe an old Shinhwa song…that one prechorus section sounds a lot like Wild Eyes and I think about it every time, haha

are you going to review VIXX’s parallel?

Nope. It was just a special digital single without an mv, so it’s not on my list. It’s a solid song, though!
