K-Pop A-Z Review: EXO – Stronger

One song. Every day. Alphabetical order.

Keep up with EXO’s A-Z reviews here!

Stronger (from Ex’Act / Lotto – 2016)

EXO often closes their albums with a more subdued song, and Stronger definitely fits that description. Essentially a piano ballad, the track has many peers within the group’s discography. It slots neatly between material like My Answer and Miracles In December. The difference is Stronger’s melody, which is pretty run-of-the-mill. I love the wisps of backing vocals during the chorus, but otherwise there’s not a lot going on within the song’s circuitous structure. Without the insanely satisfying vocals of Baekhyun, D.O, Chen and Suho, it’d be an easy skip.

**After today, I’ll be pausing these A-Z reviews to focus on reviewing the songs from EXO’s brand new album Obsession, as well as Japanese single Bird. The normal A-Z posts will resume the day after that’s all finished!
